Chole is an important dish when it comes to make something every weekend and my experiments with chole recipe has to take a new turn everytime I make it.
This time I decided to give it a dark tinge and a crunchy munch.

The ingredients you need will be:
- Overnight soaked Chole or Chickpeas 250 gms
- Chopped Tomatoes 2 large
- Oil 1 tsp
- Cinnamon
- Bay leaf
- Jeera
- Salt as per taste
- Pinch of baking soda
- Garam Masala (Home made)
- Fresh Chopped Coriender
- 2 green Chillies
- 1 tea bag
Method
The method is very easy and experimenting with this recipe is always fun , when you come out with a new taste and flavour of Chole.
- Heat the cooker, add 1 tsp of veg oil
- Add jeera, cinnamon,bay leaf.
- As they crackle add chopped tomatoes.
- Let them get soft, ans as oil appears on sides add garam masala,pinch of baking soda, salt
- Stir for 1 minute,add water to cover the chole, tea bag
- Cover the cooker and pressure cook for 4-5 whistles.
- Later on add chopped coriender and green chillies.
- Squeeze half a lemon on it.
- Serve with Hariyali rice.
Hariyali Rice Recipe
Ingredients
- 1 cup Basmati rice, soaked for 30 minutes
- Chopped fresh Spinach
- 1 small bowl of peas
- Jeera
Method
- Heat 1 tsp ghee in a pan
- Add jeera
- Peas and spinach,stir softly
- Add rice, pinch of salt
- After stirring softly for 1 minute add water
- When bubbles start appearing put on the lid and after 2-3 minutes turn off the heat
- Serve hot with Chole.
